About Pankhurst Gallery
Pankhurst Gallery, a well-known painter from Portsmouth, has always knew they was artistically gifted. After graduating from Epsom Art School, Julia worked as a portrait artist for three summers before abandoning the painting due to a lack of focus. In 2010, Pankhurst Gallery stunned everyone by painting her first seascape, "All Quiet at Twilight," which included HMS Ark Royal, while they was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Base. As a result of its popularity, they was inspired to paint a variety of naval ships, and in 2014, they was given the commission to paint the last portrait of HMS Illustrious before they was decommissioned. On the quarterdeck of the aircraft carrier, Lady Sarah Chatto (the Queen's niece) received that original artwork from Julia and the ship's captain.
