John Aquino is the creative force behind Natural Blonde Bloody Mary Mix and is a native Charlestonian. He made the decision to return to Charleston in order to continue his career as a bartender after working as a mixologist and traveling the country. John has won five Bacardi Mojito Challenges and competed in the Cabana Cachaca world finals in Rio de Janeiro, making him a household name. He was one of 14 mixologists chosen to compete in the Bloody Mary Throw Down at the Official Bridge Run After Party in 2012, where he showed off the prototype of the drink that would become Natural Blonde Bloody Mary Mix. He wanted to come up with something fresh, light, and interesting; he got the idea for his distinctive mix from a yellow tomato gazpacho that Executive Chef Frank McMahon had served him once at Hank's Seafood.
