Museum Of The Dog was established in 1982. The New York Life Building, originally located at 51 Madison Avenue, was part of the AKC headquarters. In 1987 the dog museum moved to a new location in Queens Park in West St. Louis County, Missouri. After more than 30 years of glorious years in Queeny Park, it was decided to bring the museum back to its original location and reintegrate with the AKC headquarters and collections. The dog's new home museum at 101 Park Avenue combines fine art with high-tech explanatory displays, hoping to capture the hearts of visitors.
