Mountain Goat Lodge is nestled within 20 acres of rolling pastures at the foot of the famous Savage Mountains. The goats where they live roam the grass to provide them with milk, cheese and yogurt for a delicious home-cooked breakfast and cheese-making lessons. They are located in the pristine wilderness of central Colorado but only 6 miles from the historic city of Salida. It features a small herd of dairy goats. When guests interact with their pet goats, they are always pleasantly surprised: how friendly and fun they find out about the goats! Their dairy goats provide milk to support their in-house cheese making. The milk is also used in their cheese-making classes, where students learn how to make cheese. Not only that, but Mountain Goat Lodge's dairy goats add to the mountain goat lodge's agritourism appeal, and their guests love learning about their goats and interacting with them!
