About Marimar Estate
Marimar Estate came to live in California in 1975. Following two years of looking, she gained the land and started establishing the grape plantation in 1986. Today there are 30 sections of land planted with Chardonnay and 30 with Pinot Noir. The wines are made totally from bequest-developed grapes. Named out of appreciation for the late patriarch of the family, the grape plantation is novel in California since it is absolutely European in style. Marimar Estate's plants are prepared extremely near the ground on an open vertical lattice, following the slant of an east-bound slope; the rootstocks are phylloxera safe; and the establishing thickness is 2000 plants for each section of land, multiple times more than is customary in California. Such high thickness advances root contest and decreases energy, normally lessening the result per plant.
