About Malalan
When, in the 1930s, Trieste, learned about the watchmaking trade; their primary goal was to acquire knowledge about their occupation. Malalan is to endure some turbulent war years, and when things finally settled down, their wife converted the barn in their hometown of Opicina into a watch repair workshop. The first chapter of their family's seventy-year history of excellence in watchmaking began with the repairs of various timepieces. One of the reasons their oldest son Darko discovered their interest in the watchmaking trade was the growing demand for high-quality mechanical watch maintenance. Malalan apprenticeship at the Swiss school in Le Locle made them the best watchmakers in the Triestine, and their workshop became the official maintenance facility for a number of Swiss watchmakers. They had a lot of work, and they were increasingly focused on selling jewellery.
