About Maira Kalman
Maira was born in Tel Aviv and, when she was four years old, her family relocated to New York City. She was reared in the Bronx's picturesque Riverdale. Now, she resides in Manhattan. For both adults and kids, Maira Kalman has written and illustrated over 30 books. Both The New York Times and The New Yorker have featured her work frequently. Other collaborators have included John Heginbotham, Gertrude Stein, Alex Kalman, Michael Pollan, David Byrne, and Nico Muhly. Her clock and watch designs can be found on the Maira Kalman website, which was created by her late husband Tibor Kalman. The world over, her artwork has been displayed in galleries and museums. Mary Ryan Gallery is her agent for fine art. Charlotte Sheedy is her literary agent.
