The owner of Lindey's, Sue Doody, was born in 1934 in Dayton, Ohio. Before opening in 1981 in the historic German Village neighborhood, she taught public school for a few years, ran a small catering business, and taught cooking classes from her home. Sue, a divorced mother of four children who lacked any formal education, transformed them into a Columbus, Ohio dining institution over the next 35 years. In point of fact, Lindey's has remained one of Columbus' Top 10 Restaurants ever since it opened.
