About Krita
Krita was created by them at the Linux Kongress in 1998. Matthias needed to show the straightforwardness with which it was feasible to hack a Qt GUI around a current application, and the application he decided to demo it with was GIMP. Although his patch was never released, it did irritate the GIMP community at the time. Not being in that frame of mind to cooperate, individuals inside the KDE project chose to begin their own picture manager application Advancement zeroed in on an application that was essential for the KOffice suite, called KImage, by Michael Koch. KImageShop was renamed this, and it was the beginning of Krita.
