Tapia attended Parsons School of Design and later worked for designers including Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta, where she spent time in Italy learning the ins and outs of shoemaking, before founding her own brand in 2013. Isa Tapia was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was a member of the CFDA's "Fashion Incubator" from 2014 to 2016. She lives in New York City and travels extensively around South America, Europe, and Asia. As a result of these encounters and her business zeal, Tapia debuted her own collection of distinctive shoes in 2013. Since 2016, the company has been a member of the CFDA.
