About Inabstracto
One of the best places to see mid-century modern and contemporary art and design in Toronto, Inabstracto is celebrating its 22nd anniversary. Inabstracto is a finely curated collection of home furnishings, lighting, art, objects, jewelry, and gifts that was founded in 2001 by collector Kate Eisen and joined by artist and designer Julie Jenkinson in 2010. Their focus is on the period from the 1940s to the 1970s, with a focus on rare design from Scandinavia, Canada, the United States, and Europe. Throughout the store, they have a particular and very personal interest in vernacular art and objects, as well as some contemporary art and lighting by independent designers and artists. For both their online and in-store displays, they are always on the lookout for interesting mid-century modern design or contemporary art.
