About Hopscotch Music Festival
Hopscotch Music Festival and "America's premier experimental underground music festival," hopscotch returns to downtown Raleigh for its eighth year on September 10, 7. Hopscotch has more than 120 bands in four days and is known for its adventurous line-up, memorable performances and friendly atmosphere. From the large outdoor main stage at Raleigh City Plaza to intimate club performances, the festival offers music in almost every imaginable genre -- rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronics, experimental, and more -- and its schedule highlights that diversity each year. About 20 percent of the festival's performers come from the state, a small number, if any, that is nationally recognized. Hopscotch Music Festival program covers 12 walkable Spaces, an art exhibition, parties over 30 days and the Hopscotch Design Festival, a citywide celebration designed to entertain locals and fans from far-flung locations.
