About Hobooken 5K
Opened in 1982, Hobooken 5K is a community partnership which transforms lives by providing meals for the hungry, shelter for the homeless as well as services to support people to become housed. These services help its homeless guests develop the skills needed to gain employment, achieve independence, and re-integrate into the community. Over the last year, the pandemic has challenged The Shelter in ways, it could not have imagined. It has had to change the way it serves meals, allow for social distancing, ensure its staff and guests had PPE, and develop policies and procedures. But one thing has not changed and which is Hobooken 5K's commitment to ensuring which people who are hungry are fed and those in need of a place to sleep have somewhere to lay their head.
