A 501(c)5 non-profit organization called the Grape Festival was founded to promote San Joaquin County's agriculture and agricultural products and to provide various forms of agriculture education. The Organization organizes the annual Lodi Grape festival & Harvest Fair and the Grape Festival in accordance with a contract with San Joaquin County. Also, a variety of other events, from RV group vacations to wedding receptions, take place within the 20-acre fairgrounds. Numerous additional nonprofit organizations have the chance to generate money at the Lodi Grape festival for community and charity endeavors. Since 1937, organizations including Lions Clubs, 4-H clubs, educational institutions, and youth sports leagues have raised money by selling goods at the Fair or by participating in the several agriculturally themed competition exhibits that are provided each year. As a result of the Fair, non-profit organizations raise well over $150,000 each year, and more than $30,000 in prizes are given to individuals and groups for their displays.
