About Grand Galvez
Grand Galvez, elegantly restored and tastefully modernized, welcomes guests with the ultimate in Gulf Coast luxury, combining more than 100 years of history with first-class resort amenities. Grand Galvez encourages you to make the most of all the hotel's activities and please feel free to ask their concierge and front desk for advice. As the only historic waterfront hotel on the Texas Gulf Coast, their fully restored hotel is named after Bernardo de Galvez, who surveyed the area in 1786. In 1900, a hurricane devastated the city, taking between 6,000 and 8,000 lives. At the heart of urban regeneration was the construction of a 17-foot seawall and causeway to the mainland, and with the opening of the merchant in 1911, Galveston, Texas was reborn as a treasured vacation destination.
