During a 2021 backcountry hunt, two engineers and hunting partners came up with the idea for a cleaner digiscoping system. They were dissatisfied and frustrated by the adapters that were currently on the market. Those adapters transformed their phones into cumbersome, awkward, and difficult-to-use tools. It was a terrible user experience to have to constantly turn the device on and off in order to secure it to an optic, make it fit into a pocket while hiking, or attach it to a dash mount while driving. There had better be an alternative. GeoOp began developing a brand-new attachment system for capturing content through an optic, drawing on their extensive experience in product design. By reducing bulk, GeoOp goal was to improve the user experience and create a product that did its job well without interfering with the sleek design of current smartphones.
