Gardner Mattress was founded in 1933 by Allen J. Gardner during the Great Depression. Firmly believe that hard work is the key to Mr. Gardner's business success. Gardner mattresses have grown steadily over the past 80 years, establishing the company on the East Coast and throughout New England as an innovator of the highest quality mattresses and box springs. It owns and operates the Gardner family. The company is currently run by his grandson Gardner P. Sisk. In 1993, Gardner mattresses were adopted by WCVB-TV's Susan Wornick as a company where quality bedding can be found. In 1994, Mary Richardson of Channel 5 Chronicle reiterated that Gardner mattresses were "one of the best bedding in New England."
