Flying Kites is changing primary education in rural Kenya by improving teacher skills, supporting schools, and investing in girls. The center of their approach is their teacher training center and college, which is the innovation center of their teacher community and a model school, where they develop and pilot interventions that form the basis of their school network work. They invest in girls and educators to make them agents of change in their communities. Their approach ensures that every girl has the opportunity to obtain key information and resources related to her health and exercise her newly acquired skills in the most relevant way to her. Flying Kites also cooperated with the Kenyan Ministry of Education to support resource-poor primary schools in their efforts to overcome key obstacles to learning by launching school meal plans and investing in water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure.
