About EMR
EMR is a national project for learning about marine protection experience. The independence of EMR, professional delivery, the focus of marine protected areas and the provision of a range of learning styles make it unique in New Zealand. Since the introduction of Northland in 2002, EMR has expanded to 8 regions and has 30 coordinators nationwide. After experiencing the local marine environment and fully protected marine protected areas for yourself, participants are encouraged to lead the action plan and become the subject of their marine environment. Over the years students have participated in a series of action plans to promote marine conservation, from writing letters to local government and council members, demonstrations of assembly and public events, surveys, marine protected areas, suggestions to support marine protected areas and to organize and solve local problems The community is eroded by sand dunes.
