All of this started out as a blog in 2017 to support others going through the pain of losing a baby or a pregnancy. They suffered a miscarriage in 2016 and turned to crafting and blogging as a means of coping. A few years later, Due To Joy became pregnant with their "rainbow baby, which is a term used to describe a child born after a loss. As a fun little project to decorate their newborn's nursery, making macrame rainbows brought them joy. They began making rainbows shortly thereafter for friends and family, and they continued as requests came in. They launched the shop Due To Joy. On June 8, 2020, the date that would have been their first baby's due date. Since then, their heart has grown to meet the needs of people who lose a child.
