About Dofflemyer Hotel
In the center of San Saba's historic neighborhood is the boutique Hill Country hotel known as Dofflemyer Hotel. Their San Saba hotel is housed in a structure that was initially constructed in 1913 by them for the San Saba National Bank. Artificial stone, a relatively new material at the time, was used to finish the structure. The San Saba Club, a popular men's social club at the time, leased the second floor. It have billiards and pool tables, a player piano, a parlor, and a reading room. Dofflemyer Hotel is a family-run business that sells pecans, gourmet coffee, homemade candies, homemade ice cream, soups, and sandwiches, are both located on the first floor.
