In the Barrandov film studios, an original Czech company called Dermacol SF was founded in 1966. Soon, dermatologists from the Medical Cosmetics Institute in Prague linked together with experts from film studios. The combined efforts of medically trained cosmetic doctors and pros at applying makeup for movies were quite effective. The initial product, the make-up cover, was developed 50 years ago as one of the first foundations of its sort in the world and the first foundation of its kind in Europe. This product has given the brand international prominence and is still highly regarded. The license for this foundation was eventually sold to Hollywood in 1969. Throughout the 50-year history of the Dermacol SF brand, it has been unique and the most successful product.
