About Curleys Sausage Kitchen
When the Curleys Sausage Kitchen family opened a tiny butcher shop alongside a creek just north of Fairbank, Iowa, in 1903, a passion for the meat industry was born. Farmers from the area would bring their hogs and meat in to be butchered. On butcher day, people from all across town would line the stream because the cat fishing there was the best this side of the Mississippi because the blood from the animals would run down to it. Simply put, Curleys Sausage Kitchen are still cooking sausage, but just differently. They went to the internet to carry on their company as a result of the exodus of so many small farmers and the encroachment of large corporations on the smaller guys. They prepare and smoke the sausage in their kitchen and garage, respectively. They are to eat this sausage on their own.
