In 1979, Marcelino Chelinos Garcia arrived in Oklahoma City from Aguascalientes of Mexico. He initially worked as a dishwasher in a local Mexican restaurant. Through his own efforts, he first cooked and then entered management. He later opened his first Chelinos restaurant, and now has 12 branches in downtown OKC, as well as a tortilla factory, a bakery, a meat market and an imported Mexican store.
