April Countdown — 30% at Casa Vicens

Casa Vicens, Anthony Gaudi's first masterpiece, sowed the seeds for his later work. Between 1883 and 1885, he built a summer house for the Wessons, where he demonstrated his unparalleled talent. It was declared a World Heritage site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2005. In 1883, stock and money broker Manel Vicens Montaner commissioned the young architect to design his summer garden house in the old village of Gracia. It was his first masterpiece and one of the first buildings to launch a modernist movement in Catalonia and Europe. Casa Vicens's mission as a museum is to raise awareness of the first house designed by Gaudi, as the architect envisioned, and as an important work in understanding his architectural language and the modernist movement in Barcelona.
