About Campbell's Resort
Campbell's Resort, which opened in 1901, was run by the judge and his wife Caroline. The goal of Campbell's Resort is to build such hotels and add value to the community. The judge and Caroline have a son, Arthur Campbell. Arthur was part of the first Chelan high school graduating class in 1908 and then received his law degree from the university of Washington in 1914. A strong man, Arthur was busy with track and field at the university of Washington (the track and field team, the wrestling team, and the rowing team). After graduation, Arthur fought in world war I and married his wife, Ann mumford. Art and Ann had two sons, Arthur ii and Daniel. The first motel unit was built in 1955 with the original hotel. Cabin 4 was developed in 1963. Surrounding the two motels are a swimming and dancing pavilion, lush grounds, fishing lodge and a restaurant.
