About Camera House Nz
The history of Camera House Nz began in 1952 with the self-made billionaire Sir Kerridge Odeon, who at the height of his empire held 133 theaters, making it New Zealand's largest chain of movie theaters. The appeal of watching movies at home has grown along with the development of cinema. After building the first Camera House Nz in Auckland, front and center of his theater complex, Odeon saw an opportunity and started importing film and film equipment under the subsidiary photographic wholesalers NZ Ltd., selling and providing home rentals for 16mm cine equipment. A young photographer by the name of Maxwell Bruce opened and created the layout of lower Hutt's first company in 1958 after spending several years working for the company.
