About Cafe Olimpico
Rocco Furfaro, an Italian immigrant, bought a pool table, a special satellite, and a coffee machine in 1970 for his new business, Café Olimpico — or Open Da Night, as its regulars call it. Cafe Olimpico started out as a place where Rocco and his friends could watch Italian football, play pool, and play cards. It soon became a place where the whole neighborhood got together, where you could have a traditional Italian espresso and get away from what was going on outside. Even though it has been around for more than 50 years, Cafe Olimpico is still a warm and welcoming place that is run by people who are deeply committed to the Italian values of honesty, generosity, and family. People from all over the world continue to linger at Olimpico's tables not only for the high quality of the coffee but also for the pure magic and small acts of kindness that can only occur within its four walls.
