About Vermont Shepherd
They're a 250-acre cultivate in Westminster West, Vermont Shepherd with 300-700 sheep (depending on the time of year), 2 Border Collies (who group the sheep) and 8 Maremma - a wonderful white canine who ensures the sheep from predators - in conjunction with shepherds of all ages. At the northern edge of the cultivate could be a Cave which is domestic to their 2 sorts of cheese, where they live out the seasons of their lives. Work on the cultivate incorporates: draining the sheep twice a day (5 a.m. and 5 p.m.), moving the sheep from field to field, haying, shearing sheep, cleaning to keep everything wonderful, and boxing up their cheeses and other merchandise and sending them out all over the nation! Vermont Shepherd has won two preservation grants in 2002 and 2006 for the quality of its cultivating work and progressing the soils, pastures, and water assets.
