About Bend Elks
Noteworthy Bend Elks arena was underlying 1947 and later named after its manufacturer baseball them self, Vince Genna. Secondary school, American Legion, and amateur groups at first used the arena. Proficient baseball didn't come to Bend until 1970, when the Bend Rainbows a small time subsidiary of the California Angels, first came to town. Hollywood entertainer played a respectable halfway point for the Rainbows in 1971; he hit 285 and recorded one grand slam that season. The Rainbows just played two seasons in Bend in 1971 Bend Elks moved to Washington, turning into the Walla Islanders. In 1978, the Bend Timber Hawks, partnered with the Oakland Athletics, played a solitary season at the arena. The next year, the Philadelphia Phillie's became subsidiary with the Northwest League and set the Central Oregon Phillie's in Bend.
