West Michigan-based Bekins is a well-known, family-run appliance and electronics business. When Harvey and Barbara bekins opened their own appliance repair business out of their Grand Haven home in 1975, it first began as a service provider. Even while they still see themselves as a service firm, they now sell, install, and service electronics and appliances throughout West Michigan. Scott, their son, began working in the company when they was just 8 years old, carrying the flashlight for his father. When Harvey and Barb originally established their Grand Haven showroom in 1982, Scott rolled in the first appliances. Bekins began providing specialized electronic services when Scott acquired the business from his parents.
