Founded in 1982 and used as a means to bring the local community together, they have gone through many changes over the past 30 years. In the beginning, Asian American Expo had only 60 exhibitors and a simple goal of bringing local Asian businesses and consumers together under one roof. Since those humble beginnings they have expanded its reach and scale. Today, Asian American Expo has seven large exhibit halls and over 1,000 vendors, nine non-stop performance stages and three unique food courts. Attendees from a wide variety of ethnic and working backgrounds, both local and international, are sure to show up at the fair. They are held at the beginning of each year to celebrate the arrival of the Lunar New Year festivities, with the aim of recreating the New Year celebrations that take place around Asia at this time of year. Food, shopping, entertainment and fun are just a few of the annual staples that can be found at the event each year.
