About AMP Concerts
AMP Concerts, a mission-driven non-profit, is the premier cultural institution in New Mexico, offering cutting-edge and inspirational arts programs to a wide range of audiences. Their shows cross generational, racial, and cultural divides. They think that music fosters human connection, fosters community, maintains culture, and functions as medicine. Since its inception in 2004, AMP Concerts has played host to thousands of performances by some of the most innovative and well-known artists in the world, including songwriters Jackson Browne and Joan Baez, country music greats Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett, jazz and classical greats Chick Corea and Philip Glass, representatives of world music Paco de Luca and R. Carlos Nakai, indie rock pioneers Wilco, and David Byrne. Local musicians frequently perform as openers at their events, in celebration of CD launches, and throughout the pandemic in a variety of virtual activities.
