Alpinecinemas, which opened on June 6, 1921, was originally a Loew's theater in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The architects were Carlson and Wiseman. Alpinecinemas was the first Loew's theater in the world at the time to have a balcony or gallery and all 2, 200 seats on one floor. The last 55 rows of seats in the tapered auditorium were approximately 76 feet from the screen, making it 100 feet wide at its widest point. The stage lacked a gridiron or fly gallery, but it did have an apron that was just big enough to hold a vocalist or musical instrument player in between films. Their interior was described as "decorated in a tan and gold color scheme, the general atmosphere created being one of brightness, according to Variety.
