About Afro Soca Love
Afro Soca Love is an organization that aims to strengthen ties between Africa and its diaspora through art, community and creativity. Afro Soca Love USES aspects of Caribbean carnival and African culture to host events in many of the world's major diaspora markets. Multicultural groups, including African American, African and Caribbean communities, have an active interest in learning about, experiencing, and celebrating the diverse cultures within the African diaspora. Mardi gras, usually a Christian festival of feasting and revelry before lent, formerly extended from the Lord's day to the day before lent, but now usually limited to the first few days of lent. Prevalent in Europe and the United States. Many countries have a traditional carnival festival. Masquerade parties, floats, masks and feasts are the main features of the carnival. It originated from non-Christian festivals such as the Greek Dionysian festival, the ancient Roman saturnalia and Lupercalia, and Celtic religious rituals.
