About Zaber
They at Zaber create and manufacture integrated, affordable, and simple-to-use precision positioning devices. Photonics and optics, life sciences, microscopy, and industrial automation are just a few of the many markets and applications for their products. In 1997, a group of friends set up Zaber. Back then, all precision linear actuators used DC motors with gearboxes, encoders, and a lot of other supplies. They also needed big controllers. It was expensive and difficult to set up and use precision motion control. The T-LA28 was the first device to incorporate all of the drive and control electronics into a single, compact package. It was based on a stepper motor rather than a DC motor, gearbox, and encoder combination. The T-, A-, and eventually X-Series product lines were built on their foundation of integrating all drive and control electronics into a single package.
