About Viejo Lazaro
Viejo Lazaro serves as both an online and offline Santeria resource center. They offer full-service botanica spiritual stores, educational information, support, religious ceremonies, and consultations on the Lucum religion and Yoruban culture from Viejo Lazaro physical location in Miami, Florida. The Afro-Cuban Lucum religious traditions, which were merged with New World Catholicism during slavery, are referred to as santera primarily in the United States. The majority of Africans brought to the New World to work as slaves on the various plantations were West Africans. The Yoruba of Benin and Nigeria made up the majority of Africans working in the cane fields in Cuba. They brought their Yoruban cultural and religious practices with them, but the Catholic Church and plantation owners made those practices illegal.
