About Thomas Keller
Thomas Keller is an American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author who was born on October 14, 1955. He and his iconic Napa Valley restaurant, The French Laundry, in Yountville, California, have been honored by the James Beard Foundation with a number of accolades, the most notable of which are Best California Chef in 1996 and Best Chef in America in 1997. The restaurant consistently appears on the annual list of the Top 50 Restaurants of the World produced by Restaurant Magazine. In 2005, Thomas Keller received three stars for his restaurant Per Se in the inaugural Michelin Guide for New York City, and in 2006, he received three stars for The French Laundry in the inaugural Michelin Guide for the San Francisco Bay Area. He is the only American chef to receive two consecutive three-star Michelin ratings. His restaurants hold a total of eight Michelin stars at the moment.
