The Teton Workshop shift knob's cores are made of 6061 aluminum, while the exterior scales are made of G10, a material frequently used on more expensive knives. The g10 scales are sandblasted and then coated with mineral oil to bring out their color while the aluminum cores are sent out for powder coating. The scales are then fastened to the aluminum core on either side, and they are finally prepared for shipping. Hard anodized matte black aluminum and adjustable colored G10 scales are both used in the Teton Workshop design. Both of which were produced in their 1,200 square foot factory using CNC machines.
