Taang is an independent record company based in the United States that has released music by some of the biggest artists in the world over the course of 200 releases. In 1983, the record company was established in Boston, Massachusetts. Independent record company Taang Records features hardcore punk, punk rock, Oi, power pop, ska, indie rock, psychedelic, and ambient musicians on its roster. They signed Boston-area bands such Kilslug, Last Stand, Negative FX, Stranglehold, Gang Green, and Last Rights. Negative FX's 1982 self-titled album was the first full-length release under the label. At Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the first of six retail establishments was established.
