Rebecca Vernon's vision for SubRosa prepared for certain years before songwriting started in the late spring of 2005 with related soul Sarah Pendleton on violin. The Worm Has Turned was written in Rebecca's spooky storm cellar condo and self-discharged in June of 2006. Strega was discharged in March of 2008 on Swedish fate/whip name Hate Records, in the wake of remixing by Marduk bassist Magnus "Devotional" Andersson.
