Sometimes it was a small idea, and they were hugely successful: karl-heinz Thieme never even thought it would be a success story when he set up his own family company, Sport-Thieme, in 1949. Over the past seven decades, the small family business in lower Saxony has grown into a global company, considered Germany's largest mail-order school and club sports company. From the start, Sport-Thieme has focused on quality, customer-oriented approach and product practicality. Despite its rapid expansion over the past few years, it has always maintained a strong team and a loyal family. With his wife Katharina Thieme -Hohe, the founder succeeded his father-in-law, Dr. Hans-rudolf Thieme, as managing director in 2014, and he is proud to be running this family business for the next few years.
