About Smooth Precision Pens
Veteran of the USA Air Force and mechanical design engineer for the Department of Defense, Kelvin Verrett is Smooth Precision Pens president. "Innovation via application" is their slogan. This emphasis inspires him to use unconventional methods to produce things that have never been seen before. After serving in the Air Force for more than 20 years, when they attained the rank of major, Kelvin decided to start developing high-performance writing tools. They worked for the Department of Defense for an additional ten years as a design engineer on a variety of aircraft, such as the KC-135, F-15, F-16, and B-1B. Smooth Precision Pens writing instrument business actually began in the Presidents' three-car garage in 2014. For five years, they sold pens through Kickstarter with great success. The 600 square foot "hobby" garage was too small by 2019, so they relocated to a 6,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
