About Slieve Donard Hotel
Slieve Donard Hotel was originally built by Belfast and the county down railway as a "finish line" luxury holiday destination. The building began in 1896 and was completed and officially opened on June 24, 1898, at a cost of 44,000 pounds. It was one of the most majestic hotels at the time, almost self-sufficient, with its own bakery, vegetable garden, pig farm, laundry room, innovative power plant and power for the railway station. Slieve Donard Hotel's living room, coffee shop, reading room, writing room, smoking room, billiard room and hairdressing room are typical representatives of the grandeur and luxury of the Victorian era. People can not help but think of great style and decadent scenes. People can even enjoy sea bathing, Rinsing, spraying, needle bath and Turkish bath, all of which are provided directly from the sea with electric pumps.
