Shoebox Tasks is committed to providing creative educational activities and opportunities for autistic patients with learning disabilities because they are "learning how to learn". It provides opportunities for children and adults who need a highly structured experience to succeed. Ron Larson developed these tasks while working as a therapist at the TEACCH project in North Carolina, and these tasks have proven to be educational breakthroughs for students who begin their educational journey while developing greater independence. These tasks also provide examples of the type of visual organization needed by teachers/caregivers serving this population. Shoebox Tasks is the sole source creator and distributor of insole tasks. It employs adults with autism spectrum in its professional workshops, who assemble and package tasks independently under the guidance of professional coaches.
