Shield N Seal founder, Jonathan Heiniemi (pronounced hay-neh-me), humbled himself by starting the business in his garage. Jon spent the summers at his father's farm in Northern Minnesota while growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii. He learned to appreciate gardening, delicious meals prepared at home, and fresh foods grown at home. He observed a lack of appropriate packaging for food enthusiasts, home gardeners, preppers, hunters, and chefs. He started designing products in 2011 to solve the problems he saw with sustainable food conservation. Jon wanted to introduce a food sealing product that was larger, stronger, and more affordable. He enlisted the assistance of his father, retired professional wrestler Larry, better known to some of you as Lars Anderson. Arry and Jon Heiniemi, father and son, own and operate Shield N Seal, a family business. It is based in Nevada City, California, in the stunning Sierra Nevada foothills.
