Romelia Farms is a 36-acre wildlife preserve in a historic building on Merritt Island, Florida. The property itself dates back to the 1890s when it was an orangery that later became one of Florida's first alligator ranches. When Jeremy and Lina Graves first asked about the property in late 2020, it certainly wasn't because they were interested in buying a petting zoo. In fact, the only thing they were interested in was renting the barn as a wedding venue. However, when they found out that the current previous owners were planning to sell the land and put the animals that lived on it up for auction, they decided they had to act fast if they were to save the lives of the more than 150 animals who called them them.
