About PG Performance
On July 1, 2004, PG Performance, founded by the German Paul Gerkras, celebrated its 25th year. Opened in 1980, PG Performance is a full-service auto repair shop specializing in Volkswagen and Audi, from daily maintenance to high-performance engine manufacturing. The founder of PG Performance has a rich history in manufacturing powerful European cars. He recalled some of his unique achievements, including "using the 1.5L seat, which is all they had in 1979, and giving it a 2.0L displacement", as well as the conversion of the first Corrado VR6 engine Go to the MK2 chassis (sublet of another local Volkswagen store). The recently completed PG performance conversion includes the transplantation of a 2003 European 130-hp TDI "PD" engine to the Mk 3 Golf, including the seamless integration of the MK4 specification cluster and chassis electronics.
