About Oufc
Oufc's non-profit volunteer organization. Their members include a variety of people including gardeners, foresters, landscape architects, nurseries, planners, municipalities, restoration experts, environmentalists, conservation authorities, green advocates, and others who are interested in trees. Concerned members of the public. Oufc was formerly the Ontario Shade Council (OSTC). In 2001, in order to better reflect their ecological approach to urban forests and arboriculture, they changed their name. They evolved from the Toronto Metropolitan and Dutch Elm Disease Control Committee into a committee in 1964 which was established in 1961 to investigate the control of Dutch elm disease.
