Since 1933, Nmlra has worked to preserve American history through shooting sports and living historical events. As the National Muzzle-Loading Rifle Association, it exists to promote, support, nurture and preserve the nation's rich historical heritage in the sport of muzzle-loading through games, hunting, gun-making and cultural venues. Nmlra adheres to the philosophy of providing high-quality educational teaching in a good learning environment that motivates students and teachers. Its Education Building opened in 2010 and is an ideal facility for history education and traditional arts related to the gun-loading movement.
